Software Reviews and Criticism

    Works well, could use improvements

I needed to convert .webp images to .jpg, and this did the trick. The biggest drawback is that bulk conversion is not possible - it’s one file at a time. There’s no way to choose where you want the converted image to land - it’s automatically in a file they create named after the app. There are also no preferences; I was looking for a way to have the default file conversion type be .jpg rather than .bmp, and that doesn’t exist, so for every file I had to manually change it. Also, as other users point out, it’s not a local conversion - the file is uploaded and then downloaded, which means the conversion can also be slower than you might expect based on whatever your internet upload and download speed is. Overall it did the trick, but it definitely needs improvement.

    Worked for me.

I went to the App store looking for a program that would convert SVG files. This one came up as an option. There weren’t a lot to choose from. I was very hesitant to pay for this app given that 4 out of 6 reviews were 1-star claiming that the software was junk and a waste of money. I decided not to buy it and instead to convert the image on my iPad. Well, when I went to the iPad, I realized it was the SAME app from the SAME company built for the iOS environment. I’d used that app a while ago, but didn’t realize it was the same thing — just for the iOS environment. The iOS app worked great (again) — this time converting the SVG file to PNG. So, then it got me to wondering… Could all those 1-star reviews of the PC app just be misleading? I took a risk and paid for this desktop version of the app and tried converting that same SVG image to PNG. It worked great. You know what’s more frustrating than bad apps that don’t work??? Bad reviews of good apps.

    No Batch File Processing?!

Either the developers got really, really lazy or they are just plain too inept to add in a basic and essential feature into their paid software. Every software I have seen out there has options for adding multiple files for conversion....even online websites have that feature. For $9.99, they give you nothing. As a dev, I personally know how to do it myself and am astonished that they are brazen enough to charge $10 for pure trash. The jfjf to JPG conversion is also shoddy at best and renders the images at far lesser quality than the original. Highly dissatisfied. Fix the batch file missing feature and stop ripping people off!

Wish it did a little more, but good at what it does

If you need to convert .webp files to something else, this app works. My one complaint is if it handled mutliple files (or a whole directory). My wish list is that you could configure the directory where the converted files ago and store the default file type. (defaults to .bmp and I tend to only convert to .jpg)

Paid for the app, yes simply doesn't work properly

Paid for the app and honestly very disappointed. App is stuck at "Uploading" for the apst 15 min with my files with no way to check progress. Also is the converting done over the internet, if so then why isn't there clearly communicated privacy information... I'll keep waiting but don't have hope of the program to ever finish converting the 10 images I feed into it for a TIFF -> JPEG convert.
