1. All the control knobs in the toolbar can be changed and adjusted while you paint, by using the number keys (1, 2, 3...) on your keyboard.

2. Adjacent to the palette are three control knobs that adjust the hue, saturation, and brightness of the current color.

3. To open the Layer Control, click the button that has a mountain/house/flower (symbolizing the selected layer).

4. You’re free to paint anywhere on these tiles, so you can easily create seamless patterns for use as website or desktop backgrounds, in print, or for textures in 3d modelling.

5. Toggle this feature on/off in “Work in Progress”, in the menu that comes up when you click the “…” button.

6. The Current Color button is the large colored rectangle next to the knobs.

7. The unique Seamless Pattern Editing mode lets you display the picture as tiles next to each other.

8. The standard pen and eraser are complemented by a Soft Pen, a Glitter Pen, and a Raised Ink Pen (in three variations) that produces stunning brush strokes reminiscent of pipes or cables.

9. To edit any palette section, right-click on a color in it, and a menu will appear.

10. If you upgrade to Pro, you will also be able to change the color of the paper beneath the layer(s), by pressing “Paper Color”.

11. On a trackpad, you can pinch to zoom, and use the rotation gesture to rotate the picture.
