Write Overview
What is Write? Write is a note-taking app with a modern interface that is suitable for writers, students, bloggers, or anyone who wants to keep their notes organized. It supports full Multimarkdown 4, syntax highlighting, and a unique Rich Text Markdown mode. The app has a distraction-free writing interface, beautiful handpicked fonts, and supports the use of custom fonts. It also has a customizable theme and export CSS, word, sentence, paragraph count, and estimated reading time stats. Write supports drag and drop image/URL, select to copy HTML, dark theme, and menu bar app. The app allows users to organize their notes with tags, and any tag added via Write will be available in Finder. It also supports full Dropbox synchronization for notes and the ability to use Google Drive, Box.net, SkyDrive, etc. to read, edit, and save notes. Users can export notes as PDF, RTF, and HTML, share over iMessage or AirDrop, and post on Twitter or Facebook. Working well in PC Mojave
This is a really nice, well though out app, that combines great features, with a beautiful design. It's working well in Mojave beta 11. I tried a couple of markdown editors, and found them to be pretty ugly in comparison. Notes are stores as files, in locations you can choose, including iCloud, wordpress, etc... it's easy to create a new file.
Doesn’t play well with Google Docs
I downloaded this to edit Google Docs since it specifically says it works with Google Drive. It does not. You can add the Google Drive folder and have it sync, but the app is unable to open .gdoc files. You can create word documents and save them to Google Drive, but you can’t edit any exisiting documents unless you export them as a different file type.
Basic Features Cause App to Crash
Paid $10, within 2 minutes it was crashing. Incredibly buggy and no support. Really disappointing and a rip-off.
Bogs down with too many files
When I load in my ~4,000 notes in text files, it bogs down. Too slow for the speed and volume I need to manage my text notes.
Looks slick, crashes a ton
Crashed on me within 2 minutes of use. Apparently cmd+n doesnt mean new note, it means crash the app.
