More luck than strategy, boring
Very cute interface and some clever ideas but ultimately the game involves mostly luck and not enough strategy. If you buy the full game and play enough rounds, you can unlock features that allow more strategic opportunities. However, in many cases, you are just repeatedly flipping through the discard pile waiting for a useful card to come up, which is too boring. (For example, in the screen shot above, there 60 cards laid out but only two card values in play, the king and the sixes (three of them). So there are only four cards you can draw that will be usuable. So you just sit there turning over cards until you get one. Zzzzz. Also there aren't many undos, and when you're bored, it's easy to make a mistake that you can't undo. Also the game uses more than one deck, so you can't guess what cards are left. And, toward the beginning of free play, the game instructs you to leave a five-star review in order to continue the free play, hence the large percentage of five-star reviews. I don't mind paying five bucks for a game I like, but I do mind a misleading rating (basically a fake rating).
great game BUT YOULL HAVE TO PAY IN THE END!!!
I am officially changing my original 5 star rating. After the game forced me to rate it, making it impossible for me to play until I rated the game. It also doesnt tell you in the beginning of the game that after a certain amount of levels beaten, they’ll take the entire game from you unless you want to spend 5$ on the entire game. Now thats BullS***. Cannot stand these types of games where they pull you in because its free to download but the moment you invest your time and energy into the game you have to pay money to continue to play. Terrible Terrible Terrible because its actually a really nice game. BUT NOT WORTH 5$
It Gets You Hooked
Just wanted to play some simple solitaire and this had the highest reviews so I chose it and now I’m absolutely hooked. Although they ask to rate it before you can play anymore levels and then you do have to buy the game in order to play it.
Lo†s of fun
For those of us over 60 this is a particularly good game. You don’t need a degree in comp science. You can start it and then stop and pick it up later. This is the second computer I have installed it on and spend a fair amount of time playing it while the tv drones on.
