Good for what it does
Generally, I’m pretty happy with this ap. It does images with a few colors very well. Once things get complicated (like a photograph), you need to experiment a lot to get a decent few-color image. In some ways, I like it better than the more expensive option (colors turn out to be better, for example), in others, not (does not deal with complex images well). For cartoons, excellent. For clip art, generally pretty good (depends on the gradations of color in the clip art), for photographs, someimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t (probably more on the latter than the former). Still, I would get it again to try to get what I want as easily as possible before going to the “heavy hitters."
Seems to work very good
It traces around the edge or around the color of several different graphic formats well. When I save them as an Adobe Illustrator image I can alter them. I have not tried a photo yet. I am not sure how that would work but it does very well on clip art. It lets you save as AL, SVG and PDF. SVG is commonly used in vinal and paper cutting machines.
Very poor quality SVG rendering for PowerPoint
Just purchased this yesterday so have not used it extensively but I am not sure I ever will. I am trying to create an SVG from PNG with an open area in the middle. The outer edges are grainy and have some random jagged edges. And I cannpt get it to render an editable, recolorable SVG in PowerPoint. On top of that, the app pushes an even "better" version for extra money. Based on my experience so far, I would not invest even more money on this.
Perfect Solution
Needed a vectorizer. Did a great job with a very complicated logo. It converted a png and pdf version of the logo wonderfully. Definitely worth paying a few bucks for. Thanks!
Meets my needs so far ..
I’ve used it several times and, with the Color option chosen, it works just fine for my utilitarian functions. It could use an "image resize” command menu option. I have to use another app to do that and reimport it in it’s new proportions to get the size and shape I need. Another good feature or command menu option I’d like to see is one for unlimited import of different layers to facilitate the animation of SVGs as icons or for any other use. It works for GIFs & PNGs. It could be that simple without a price change. Those 2 features would help keep it in a class of it’s own. It’s the only vector conversion app I use. It’s good. Buy it if you need it. It does what you need for converting standard 2-dimentional graphics into real-live .SVGs.
