Software Reviews and Criticism

    Pretty good

I really like this app, and how easy it is to use. It syncs through both Dropbox and WiFi perfectly for me. It downloads every single sticky note from the Stickies app (I know some people were having problems with that). The only thing I don’t like is that there’s no automatic uploading on the Windows desktop app, and I always forget to go in the app and manually upload them. It’s also a bit annoying that on iPhone you can only read the notes- but it isn’t that big of a deal for me, personally. Overall good app, and if the two things I mentioned were added/fixed, then it would be the best Windows and iOS sticky app ever! [This same review has been written by me on both the Windows and iOS apps]

    Useless!

I got the apps to sync just fine but there doesn't seem to be a way to resize the notes or move them around the screen, and as everyone before me said yoou can't ad to the note on the iOS side. I have an iPad with 24 notes all stacked on top of each other and I can't easily choose which one I want to get to. You can only search for what you remember, curently it's ranked #109 in productivity on iTunes, someone didn't do their homework very well. If yoou just need a mirrored version of the notes then it might be useful but not thwe way I wanted to use it. Someone needs to come up with a better solution to stickies than the Microsoft version, which is still the best I've found.

    Working, but

The instructions are poorly worded — it’s one space between the two numbers. Search hides notes that don’t have your search term - that’s good. The bad: on iPhone you can’t copy the note, so where I want to copy some instructions and paste into an email I’m out of luck. The bad: can’t create a note on the iPhone

    Can't access stickies database!

Above kind says it all. I'd give it 0 stars if Microsoft would let me.

took some tinkering, but it works

I couldn’t get this app to work at first. Just like everyone else I felt like I’d just gotten jipped outta a coupla bucks. I boot from a SSD with my user profile on my HDD, so I’m not using a tradition file stucture. I got the sense the app didn’t understand where to find the stickiesdatabase. Booting up “traditionally” still yielded an error message, but I persisted with each of the possible problmes listed. One of which was to make sure port 80 is open. I know nothing about ports, port forwarding, etc, but just following instructions online I quickly configured my router to enable portforwarding and finally the app worked - kinda like a charm. Because of the way I use stickies, this app will work for me because I’ll only need to sync once a month or every other month, and good thing since it’ll require 2 reboots in order to complete the sync.
