Battery Guard Features and Description

1. Battery Guard tells you how long your battery will last! It is a fully featured, enhanced replacement for the battery tray icon that comes with your Windows.

2. Battery Guard shows the time left on your battery right next to its icon! If you'd rather show the percent charge, you can see that too.

3. 2) Uncheck the box at the bottom that says: "Show battery status in menu bar".

Pros:

  • - Interface is easy to use
  • - Drop down menu from the menu bar for battery information
  • - Ability to set the menubar's display settings to state percentage of battery left, or time left on battery
  • - Works great for what is needed and shows a lot more than expected
  • - Option to show the percentage or the time remaining
  • - Only single choice that will work on Macs with 32-bit Intel processors

Software Reviews and Criticism

claims to warn at 10% battery but doesnt

For a few years now OSX and Pc power management is so bad that each time I am getting to the point where the system should just suspend until connected again, and I am in a fullscreen game where I dont see the battery status, I end up having to reboot the system. This app was supposed to help work around this Microsoft software quality issue, and it doesn’t, same thing happened again. No audible alert, the system just blanks out and quikly connecting the power cord does not prevent it from becoming unresponsive fror a long time, usually comes back up one more time then blanks again just as I am working on it again, then eventually have to reboot to regain control over the system. This app could be great if it had an audible alert, but it doesn’t.

    Best battery app I've seen

I've tried a few battery apps. I prefer this one for its interface. The battery information is in a drop down menu from the menu bar (as opposed to a new window like in some other apps). One can also set the menubar's display settings to state percentage of battery left, or time left on battery. I would appreciate an update that enables one to remove the icon, and just display the time left / percentage charged.

Works Great and DOES show time left in menu bar

Works great for what i needed and showed alot more that i didnt know about my battery. i downloaded it because i wanted to see the time remaining in the menu bar and i was a little put off reading reviews that it didnt when i thought it did. but after downloading it i found out it does show the time remaining in the menu bar. But you need to click on the lightning icon and then go to the settings gears at the bottom and then click the show option. There will be the option to show the percentage or the time remaining. Wala and ur done. I do wish i could do both the percentage and the time remaining but i can just set my normal battery icon that way. Overall Completely Satisfied.

    It's useful

It's a very nice and simple app for displaying info about your battery. I just wish it supports Retina display.
