Awesome game. Loved the characters.
This was a really great game. I have played most of the previous games and this is definatly one of the better ones. Not very scary, so a good one for younger kids to watch. Amazing graphics, the people looked very realistic. The setting is huge and a little hard to understand at first, but after a while you get used to it. The controls were a little different, but easy to adjust to and much more convenient. Now to the very best parts of the game, THE PUZZLES! I really enjoy puzzles and this one is the probably stocked with more puzzles than any other ones. They were very challenging and many were hard to understand but creative ideas and interesting solutions. Don't feel bad about looking up cheats though it's actually almost nessasary at some points in the game. It was a very long game and was a bit slow at some points. The ending wasn't totally satisfying either. The character were very different and unique, they were the main storyline. Overall a really great game. Worth the $.
Thank you, HerInteractive, but your Queen is in Another Tomb.
As to be expected, HerInteractive produces a fun, entertaining game with great graphics. However, fans of the Nancy Drew series may be disappointed with this one. I am not saying it was a bad game. It was just ok. I was looking for more story. It seems like the majority of the game was spent solving senseless puzzles and decoding hieroglyphics. Basically, another puzzle intensive game. However, the characters are fun. I enjoyed talking to them. That is, when you can talk to them. And seeing as most of the storyline comes from them, I was disappointed. I would have loved for Nancy Drew to find fake journal entries written by the Pharaoh and Nefetari similar to what was found in Shadow Ranch or Last Train to Blue Moon Canyon. And the unveiling of the true villian was extremely anti-climatic and boring. And that's usually the best part of the game. To sum it up, if you are looking for a story driven Nancy Drew game, you have come to the wrong place. If you want a puzzle-heavy game with great characters, I think you will be pretty happy with your purchase. A must-buy to complete a Nancy Drew collection, however, there are better ones. This game was hyped up a little for me and I think it fell short. I would recommend Captive Curse, Shadow at the Water's Edge or Deadly Device before you buy this game.
So Much Fun!!
I love everything Nancy Drew. I've been an ND fan since i was a young girl (now i'm 66) and i love playing ND with my granddaughter (21 years old). ND crosses over many generations and never disappoints. I am getting ready to download another game as soon as i finish this review. BTW i loved the Lost Queen - i played amateur level and found it to be quite challenging. i needed cheats all the way through the game and had to start the game over twice before i could move forward. Loved it! Everyone should play ND for clean fun. Rated FUN for everyone!
Great! Perfect puzzles, amazing characters
This game was great! It was a bit creepy (I find mummies and acient Egypt creepy). The characters were all so different. I found myself constantly on my toes wondering who the bad guy was. This game did have a different ending, but I didn't mind. At first, the game was hard to get used to because of the new format, but I found it much easier to use once I adjusted to it! I would reccomend this game to anyone!
