Software Reviews and Criticism

    Recommended!

This was the first of the newer ND games that I played and it brought back all the nostalgia from older games. I usually use steam and app store reviews to pick which of the ND games I wanted to play and there wasn’t really any for this game, but I decided to risk it and pick it. And honestly, it was so worth it. The plot is so interesting and actually really well done. I was genuinely invested in the plot and I didn’t see the end coming. I would recommend it to anyone who was even the slightest intruiged by the story. A warning: there were points that I had to ask my boyfriend to look up some hints (I would have done it, but I didn’t want to accidentally spoil the story) but that’s just because I get frustrated easily. There aren’t that many puzzles which could either be good or bad depending on your preference BUT it took me a weekend to finish (and yes i was playing for multiple hour chunks each day), which means the game can last pretty long. I do recommend this game! It ran smoothly on my computer!

    Alibi in Ashes

Alibi in Ashes does not work on my Pc that runs High Sierra. I have contacted support through email several times and have never received a refund or instruction on how to get this to work. I feel like I was ripped off. Don’t assume that what you buy in the App Store always works. I am very dissatisfied with this purchase. Nancy Drew games are usually fun, but $20 is a lot to pay for nothing.

    Well, I loved it.

I don't know if this game will be for everyone. If you prefer more exotic, graphic heavy games, then I reccomend you try "Shadow at the Water's Edge," "Captive Curse," or (my personal favorite) "Tomb of the Lost Queen." If you're really into spookier settings then this probably won't be your cup of tea... This game can be pretty short if you're playing on Junior Detective (which there is no shame in), or if you're using online clues. However, I thought it was a decent length, but I might just be less intuitive (although I have played all the games). But there are a lot of fun things in this game for fans of Nancy Drew (books or games). We finally get to see River Heights, and we get to see a few of Nancy's friends ;) I really enjoyed the mystery and I think that out of all the ND games that have used the 'changing player' format THIS did it the best. I found it to be a really fun game overall, I think it's a perfect representation of the games and fairly well rounded; So, since this is my review, I think it deserves five stars :), but I think this game would only suit some players, and if you're looking for something else in an ND game you should shop around, there are lots of really great games. Granted… It's easier to shop around if you also have a PC (sorry Windows purists).
