Works as intended, good for hotel room monitoring.
I have been looking for an app that I could run to monitor my hotel room when I was out without my laptop. I set this up with 1 minute delay before “arming” and it faithfully monitored my hotel room. In my testing on this trip, it only recorded me coming back into the room, so I am confident that no one else had entered my room while I was out. I only used to camera based detection, not the audio, because our room was close enough to the hotel swimming pool that it would likely trip for kids screaming at the pool, so I can’t report how well that works. I am not sure what the other reviewers that gave negative reviews were unhappy about, but this version definitely works the way I want it to. I did not use a “cloud” drive to store the output, but I could see where that would be useful if you were going to be away for a while. (Like leaving the laptop at home and using it for a security camera.) Great app for the price! (free!)
Just what I needed
It’s perfect and I’m soooo thankful to Egg Devil for offering this app!!! I have a troubled teen who keeps stealing from us, but since I can turn this on….no problems at all. The only thing that happens that I can’t figure out, is the green light on my Windows stays on even after closing the app. BUT - I actually don’t mind. Because my son thinks it’s recording, even when it’s not. Tee Hee.
Motion sensitive video clips
I’m still testing. I was able to complete initial configuraiton with no problems. I have my video clips being recorded to my ICloud drive so I can remotely monitor them. My tests confirm that both the audio and video sensitivity triggers work as expected and the sensitivity level of both are easily changed. So far, so good.
I like it basically, but two things I don’t like.
I don’t like the fact that the little icon fails to appear on the top menu. I can’t make changes without that. 2. Since I can’t change the settings via the app icon, the camera is always on. I set a schedule for activity and it worked once. After that, the camera stayed on and I can’t access the app to change the settings. I liked it at first, and then I didn’t.
