Bencher Overview
What is Bencher? RustyBrick has developed a free Benching app for Mac users running OS 10.5 or greater. The app includes Birkat Hamazon, Al Hamichya, Borei Nefashot, Asher Yatzar, and more. It is Smart Siddur enabled and changes to show Yaaleh Veyavo on Rosh Chodesh. The app also displays the Hebrew date and can be launched at startup by selecting "Always Start at Login" from the menu. However, the app does not ask for the user's location, so it cannot determine when it is the next Jewish day until the next English day.
1. On Rosh Chodesh, it changes to show you Yaaleh Veyavo - it just knows! Note, this version does not ask for your current location, thus we do not know if sunset has occurred and thus cannot know when it is the next Jewish day until the next English day.
2. A new version will be out soon to give you this location based smart siddur feature.
