What is BookReader? The app is a top eBook reader for Mac that supports various formats including EPUB, MOBI, PRC, AZW, FB2, PDF, Microsoft DOC, RTF, RTFd, xHTML, Webarchive, and TXT. It offers features such as Retina support, page flipping animation, optimized for macOS Sierra, exportable highlighting and notes, text-to-speech for vision-impaired people, small memory footprint, BookShelf database with easy metadata management, natural two pages viewing mode, table of contents with crossover hypertext links, bookmarks, fullscreen mode, gestures, customizable operational keys, automatic charset encoding, customizable fonts family, sizes, colors, inter-row spacing, margins, columns gap, etc. The app also supports Leap Motion controller and allows printing and converting to PDF format. However, it cannot open DRM encrypted e-books due to legal restrictions.

    NICE !!

    This is what I have been looking for a long time. I like the physical animation of turning pages and the way it looks like a real book !! Like the way I can change the color of the pages and the book binder, I never spend money on apps but really glad I did on this one. When first opened, it would be nice if the toolbar itself would change to a wooden look or choice of color. Anyway, Great App !!!

    An excellent alternative to others

    I have a lot of eBooks well over 200 and very few that have a DRM associated with them. Bookreader is the only ebook reader that I've found that will hold my library on my Windows without becoming corrupted. So I am a happy customer and quite pleased with it. As always there are a few features I would like to see added, but it works and easy to navigate. Enjoy.

    Exports, but doesn’t convert

    I was really looking for a book reader that would allow me to convert my .MOBI and .EPUB files to PDF. The description of the app says it supports an export function and also supports PDF. PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS PROGRAM WILL NOT CONVERT BETWEEN FORMATS. The online manual and trial versions aren’t really clear on this, so I’m out $9.99 for the gamble. That said, it does its job well enough. If you’re looking for a good ebook reader, this one works fine, but don’t expect much else.
