    Not Eligible for Refund

I installed Garageband in 2014 and then acquired this tutorial by mistake, not realizing that it is for a much older and very different than the current Garageband. I asked for refund because the app is of no use to me. The reply was that it was not eligible for a refund. Buyer beware: have mouse, don’t click.

    beginner to advanced

This course was so great! I’ve been wanting to learn GarageBand for a while, and have tried to find things online but couldn’t quite understand it. Scott Freiman is an excellent teacher. I finally found the missing information that I couldn’t find elsewhere. He starts out with the basics, then quickly moves on to show more and more of what this app can achieve. By the end I felt completely comfortable with the whole process. He even covers enough of Podcasting and scoring movies to make me wonder why more pros don’t know the features of the app—did you know you can embed a url onscreen in your movie or photo? Anyway, I bought this tutorial to learn to put together some music, and he really shows you how, whether it is via recording with a mic, midi instrument or Loops. Third party plug-ins are covered well also. I also loved the way he showed some general “best practices” along the way, such as how to build a song with the different sections and how to structure your project. It made me feel that I can handle constructing more adventurous songs than I would have thought. Whether you are beginner or advanced get this course so you can say you know the app A to Z. Recommended!

There was more to Garageband than I realized!

I really thought that I had a good grasp of what GarageBand offered as my DAW of choice. Apparently I only knew about 50% of what the application had to offer! I had 2 weeks of vacation from my job and decided to jump back into my music hobby and bought this video tutorial on a whim. At first I thought, oh boy, this is going to be everything I already know, I just wasted $15. Not the case at all! I learned a ton from these videos! I liked how he split the learning into many small, "bite sized" videos. I found myself watching a few here and there, taking it all in. I actually have a renewed energy to work on my music hobby after watching the videos, and I know that if I need a refresher on anything I can just go back to that particular video for guidance. Plus, I don't know about everyone else out there, but I have the bug to buy and try tons of different DAWs, plugins, effects, etc. I now have a new respect for GarageBand and have confidence that it will be able to handle what I need for my music hobby for a long time now that I know how to use it fully. So I guess one last little comment is that this $15 may have saved me $100 or more in buying the latest and greatest application because GarageBand will work just fine for my needs. Again, bought it on a whim, I don't know the creator of this, but I wanted to take a minute to review it and thank him for his work. Happy customer here.

    Very good, recommended.

It may be a little on the basic side, but these videos cover everything needed to use the functions in the new Garageband '11 software. I do recommend it. The ability to watch a partucular chapter and skip around is very useful as well.

    Good

A lot of what is covered is the basics to Garageband most of which you can learn on your own by experimenting with it, but there were a lot of little tips and tricks taught here that will make your Garageband experience better.
