iKanban Overview
What is iKanban? iKanban is a free app available on Mac, iPad, and iPhone that helps users organize their tasks and reminders on a three-column board labeled "Todo, Doing, Done." The app adds a third state, "DOING," to help users keep track of what they are currently working on. iKanban provides a visual representation of the progress of all lists on a single board. The app allows users to filter by list or reminder title, create and edit lists, and give reminders a color. It also offers powerful keyboard shortcuts and the ability to control list visibility. The app has some constraints, such as only one priority level, no manual sorting, and no drag and drop. The app is planning to release a pro version with GTD tools and a watch app in the future.
1. iKanban tells you what you were working on at each project and gives you a complete visual representation of your lists progresses on a single board.
2. iKanban puts your reminders and todos on a three column board "Todo, Doing, Done".
3. The lists that contain such tasks can't tell you what you were working on.
4. TWO: It gives you a visual overview of all stuff you are working on.
5. Tasks, like reminders, traditionally have two states: Open and Done.
6. While this is a simplification of the kanban principles, it is a "one little thing" that adds enormous value to the process.
7. You can help yourself by sorting or flagging the current tasks.
8. But there isn't always a natural order and flagging a task doesn't please everyone, at least not myself, as it looks more like prioritizing.
9. IMPORTANT: OPEN YOUR REMINDERS APP AT LEAST ONCE, IF YOU HAVE NEVER USED IT BEFORE.
10. ONE: It answers the "What was i supposed to do right now, on this thing?"-question.
