SponsorBlock Overview
What is SponsorBlock? SponsorBlock is a browser extension that allows users to skip over sponsors, intros, outros, subscription reminders, and other annoying parts of YouTube videos. It is a crowdsourced platform where anyone can submit the start and end times of sponsored segments and other segments of YouTube videos. Once submitted, everyone else with the extension will skip over the sponsored segment. The extension only works on the YouTube website and does not block normal YouTube ads. It is open source, and the entire database is public. The extension requires permission to access data for youtube.com and www.youtube-nocookie.com to modify the YouTube webpage. The extension generates a random "userID" that is used when submitting or voting, allowing users to appear on the leaderboard and help determine the reputation of submissions. More information about how it works can be found on the SponsorBlock website, and the source code is available on GitHub.

Love the extension but....it's 100% free!!!
I feel a little duped by Microsoft since this 100% free, open-source code/extension is being sold for a profit on the App Store. Now, I'm happy to pay for this product, especially since the developer will get something. I've supported alot of small-time developers in the past for creating and sharing some rather nifty apps. I just strongly disagree with the way Microsoft has monetized this BROWSER EXTENSION and will ultimately reap some profit. Hopefully Ajay gets more than 50%. I bet you can even find it by searching under your browser's extensions....Anyways, awesome little extension that ACTUALLY works and I love the crowd-sourced aspect of it.
Works Just as Advertised
It’s great to see the developer of one of my favorite desktop browser extensions wasted no time porting it to Safari on iOS. It’s clean, functional, customizable, unobtrusive, and reasonably priced. While there are still some limitations (e.g., only works in default Safari app and not other browsers or WebViews), these are restrictions entirely on Microsoft’s side. I have little doubt this will be updated as soon as Microsoft unfurls their belated extension API at whatever glacial pace suits the world’s first $3 trillion company.
Pleasantly Surprised!
I was skeptical this would work on mobile especially when there were only a couple reviews but it works perfectly just like on my desktop browser!
Great app. I encourage you to purchase it.
Although it doesn’t work on the YouTube app, I’m more than happy to use YouTube on Safari. It’s so satisfying hearing YouTubers getting interrupted thanking their sponsors and I hope more people use this app, so we can put an end to YouTube sponsorships.
it works when it wants to
sometimes it skips, sometimes it doesnt. the green bar on the seeking bar is there but sometimes it just plays like normal. ive noticed toggleing "skipping is enabled" off and back on sometimes fixes it for a couple of videos.
