Breathable Air Quality Widget Overview

What is Breathable Air Quality Widget? Breathable is an Air Quality Index (AQI) widget available for iOS, iPadOS, watchOS, and macOS. It provides a quick and easy way to check if it is safe to go outside by using AQI data from IQAir.com and AirNow.gov. The app allows users to find coordinates for any area using their device's current location, postal code, place name, or full address. Users can customize the widget's appearance by changing fonts, showing or hiding information, or using the Emoji Scale. Breathable encourages users to create a free API account, set their location, configure their widget, and add it to their device. The app aims to make a difference in the global fight against climate change by raising awareness and encouraging action.

Breathable Air Quality Widget Features and Description

1. AQI is based on latitude and longitude coordinates and Breathable makes it simple to find coordinates for any area using device's current location, or by selecting a place on the world map.

2. Breathable is a simple, friendly Air Quality Index (AQI) widget for all of your devices, with support for iOS, iPadOS, watchOS and PC.

3. Customize how your widgets look by changing fonts, showing or hiding various bits of information, or by using Breathable's Emoji Scale to soften the reality of the smoky air around you.

4. Breathable uses the United States Air Quality Index for all values world-wide.

5. Breathable can use AQI data from two services: IQAir.com and, optionally, AirNow.gov (in the USA).

6. Simply create your free API account, set your location, configure your widget, and add it to your device.

7. Coordinates are only used to request AQI data and are never shared with Karbon or any other third-parties.

8. Optionally, sync your API keys to iCloud to enable one-time API setup across all of your devices.

9. We wish Breathable didn't need to exist.

10. You can also search by postal code, place name, or partial or full address.

11. Climate change is real and devastating, and we don't have much time left to stop it from becoming irreversible.

    Excellent app, bumpy start

I initially had issues getting the widget to show, but finally got it working with some help from the developer (excellent support). I'm loving this app. It is really well designed, easy to use and updates in the background.

    Timely, beautiful, helpful

I was just looking for a widget like this one. It requires some work to set up, but that’s because of the advanced data sources required and not the developer's fault, and the app and its web page make the steps very clear, and web page helped me through an issue where the widget wasn’t available at first. Once set up the first time it’s smooth sailing. This is as good a launch experience as I’ve had with something this complex!

iOS is glitchy, not the widget!

Just what I was looking for. Had to restart my device for the widget to show up in the Widget Center, though. On the developer’s website it says: Open the Breathable app, visit the Widget UI tab, and change one or two settings. Background the app again, and this might convince Widget Center to show the widget. Try restarting your device, then running the Breathable app once, then looking in the available widgets list again.

    Fantastic simple app

Does one thing very well. Doesn’t harvest data. I love it. Request: I wish I could track multiple locations. (I.e. my current location and where I plan to vacation). The sad fact that living in the PNW will require searching out a more breathable place to flee to when the fires start.

    Simple and delightful 🤗

Does exactly what you want in a usable, fun way. Love the emoji scales! I too had trouble with the widget not showing up in my widget list but the developer helped me solve it and responded to my email in record time! So nice that it supports not just the US too 🌏
