AuthPass Overview

What is AuthPass? AuthPass is a password manager app that allows users to securely store and manage all their passwords in one place. It supports the popular Keepass format and allows users to generate secure random passwords for each account. The app also enables users to keep track of their accounts across the web and synchronize passwords across devices using Dropbox, Google Drive, OneDrive, or WebDAV. AuthPass supports saving passwords to local files or cloud storage services, and it does not send passwords to its servers. The app is available on mobile, tablet, and desktop devices and allows users to save Time-based One Time Passwords for 2fa. AuthPass is a full-featured, open-source project with no artificial feature restrictions, ads, or subscription requirements. The app is under active development, and users can provide feedback via email or the issue tracker on GitHub.

Software Reviews and Criticism

    It works!

I don’t know what other reviewer is experiencing but works fine for me. It opens, reads, and manages my passwords using KeePass kdbx files. No issues so far. I was using MacPass which stopped working so happy to find this alternative.

Looking for something more feature-rich, but might be good for others

This app seems to be in the early development stages, so I’m not going to judge it too harshly, but it’s not really an alternative to more feature-rich password managers — more a geek-friendly option for those who value security, control and open-source over user-friendliness. Pluses: Free, open source, sync via your own cloud services (not proprietary clouds controlled by the developer), multiple vaults/files, multi-line fields, small app size Minuses: Few features, missing lots of common keyboard commands, definitely an Android UI just ported to Windows, no browser extensions or auto-fill, buggy (scrolling doesn’t work, have to click-drag) AuthPass may be great for users already in the KeePass environment, and I’ll probably keep an eye on its development because I think it has potential, but at the moment, it’s not for me.

    Borken app, don't bother downloading

Stuck at splash screen, app simply doesn't do anything and doesn't respond to clicks or any buttons. Total waste of time.
