What is Norton Safe Web Plus? Norton Safe Web Plus is an app for Mac and Safari browser that provides two main features: Norton Safe Web and Norton Password Manager.     Lost Passwords Unable to log in to computer.

    Geez! Why did I do this? I seldom add new software to my Pc because whenever I do the Law of Unintended Consequences kicks in! Received a pop-up ad for Norton Safe Web Plus. Without thinking or investigating I pushed "install." AFTER pushing "Install" I looked at the Reviews and saw the many problems encounterd by other Norton Safe Web Plus users. I encounterd many of the same problems. First I could not login to my computer and had to open in Safe Mode before I could access the computer. Then ALL of my passwords that had been stored in Safari disappeared. Passwords that automatically filled-in flawlessly prior to Norton Safe Web Plus now no longer worked. With EVERY website I frequent I had to re-enter my password which is a royal pain. I uninstalled Safe Web Plus but I stiil have the problems. It seems like Safe Web absconded with all my passwords or somehow movd them. Where? I do not know. I am very dissatisfied with Norton Safe Web Plus to the point that I'm wondering if I really need any of the other Norton products I use. Next time I need to remember my personal rule of not installing new software.

    Problem with "Updates"

    So far, the program seems to do what it is suppose to do, as expected. With that in mind, I think it would deserve 4 stars. However, it perpetually shows up in my "updates" tab as though it requires an update... even though I have already clicked update and performed thte update in the app store.. the "update" still shows as though I have never updated it. I think it is a bug in the app, and hopefully Norton fixes the issue soon!

    Serious issues with Norton!

    1-When you down load this app it will block attempts to remove it on your computer like a virus, 2-This app like a virus takes over your control of passwords. 3-The only way to remove the app is to call Norton but the only way they answer the phone is if you are buying the app. 4-After spending hours on trying to remove norton from my computer I called the Norton help line and like I said, you could only get help if you said your intions were to buyi the norton product. 5-DO. NOT DOWN LOAD BECAUSE THIS ACTS SIMILAR TO A VIRUS!

    Don't want Norton Password Manager? Disable it

    After you install and run this app, open Safari Preferences (Cmd comma, or Safari > Preferences). In Preferences, select the Extensions tab. In the left column you should see both Norton Password Manager and Norton Safe Web. Clear the checkbox on Norton Password Manager. Note: Despite my having done this, Norton still pops up a window from time to time telling me to "Install the Norton Safe Search and Norton Safe Web Extensions..." As far as I can tell, this app does NOT install Norton Safe Search; I am not sure how to install that if you want it.
