Works well, but inconsistent between Windows/Windows
WPS Office works well in general, but the developers are clearly biased toward PC users. This Windows version gives you a free trial of the premium edition and then automatically downgrades you to the free version. This would be fine, except that almost all features are disabled in the free version. Besides a few basic formatting options, everything else is considered “premium features.” This isn’t the case on the Windows version, though. There are certainly restrictions on that version as well, but not nearly as many. This is confusing and disappointing for me. I like the PC version a lot, but this Windows version is way too limited by comparison. Please address this and keep the features consistent! Again, with all due respect, it seems as though you’re biased toward PC for some reason.
All in One
Mostly, I only use the MS Excel in my Windows, but sometimes I also need to modify a Word or PowerPoint file. In the past, I have to install 3 different applications. But I’m not a Word/PowerPoint professional, what I need is just some basic operations. Until I find this one, WPS Office, I have used it for several weeks, it’s so wonderful, I think it not only provide the basic operations I need, but also many professional operations. I love it!
Barely passable
It seems to be a passable product but has some very disappointing issues. Font rendering is sometimes odd with weird letter weights and kerning. OS-level editing keys (e.g., option-delete, option-arrows) don't work. On first launch I was assaulted with "subscribe now" dialogs and notices before I even got to see the product; let me get in the dang door first! It didn't remember my document that I just created in the Recents open dialog. It completely fails with VoiceOver and there are no other accessibility features in the product that I could find, but I admittedly didn't dig far.
Why Should I Pay On Windows Only?
I moved from a Windows laptop to a PC. I was telling my friend, who bought Microsoft Office, how amazing the free software was on Windows. Now, though, I have nothing to gloat about, as I would have to pay to get the same functionality as I did on Windows. That makes no sense. Is it because I have a Windows that I now also have money to spend frivolously on this sort of stuff? No, not really. The app should be free on both platforms, not just Windows.
Works well, but inconsistent between Windows/Windows
Update: I'm happy to say that this version is much more comparable to the Windows version of WPS. This is a great office suite, and it beats paying for Microsoft Office! I also appreciate that this program is all-in-1, as Microsoft Office can take up several gigabytes of space, while this app only requires about 500 megabytes.
