    Deserves More Attention

I am surprised to see some of the low ratings here, because this is a great viewer. Coming from Windows, there are not too many for Windows that can do what’s needed. It can view images and GIFs, and it can play videos and even audio. It has a slideshow option that allows you to change the duration and apply music, and it has different sorting options like ABC order or most recent. This really works for me, because all I needed was a viewer that could view all of my media files in order. I do animation, and I have several frames and video files for a single sequence, and now I can view them all like a flipbook (kind of). I don’t see what is to dislike about this viewer. It’s organized very nicely. It can take a little longer to load the first media type than other viewers, but it’s not that long. Phiewer even has a slick icon and interface. I’m not sure what I think of the name though. With the way the icon looks, Clover might be a good one.

Annoying panel gets in the way

There is an annoying panel that gets in the way of larger photos. There is no way to move or disable the panel. Sometimes it fades away, but sometimes it doesn’t, and when it does, it takes too long to fade away. It really gets in the way of the pictures. Other than that, this app is okay.

    Very Useful

I love this application and I use it all the time. I have a lot of art and photography images that I keep in folders. But there is a small problem that appeared after version 1.8.2. I am either not seeing the thumbnails or only partially seeing the thumbnails for certain folders. This mainly seems to happen with folders that have had images added, removed or rearranged. Hopefully a future update will have a fix.

    Not bad, not great

Sorry, but it’s taking 11 sec per image (.nef)=55 sec/5 images=18.3 minutes/100 images. When I shoot drag races I will shoot thousands of images. That would be 3 hours per 1000 images just going through deleting the ones I don’t want. Cut the load time down and you will get a higher rating from me.

    Good app for slideshow

This is a good free app to do a slideshow. It would be nice to have the ability to hide the window border, but that's not essential. One strange UI decision is to use the option and control keys to toggle the sidebar and backdrop ambiance. It is unconventional and can be triggered easily by mistake. The design of the main menu is ... lazy. For a modern app, "Sidebar (on|off)" is not a proper title of a menu item. The items should either change their texts according to the state or use a mark char along with "Show sidebar". Assigning hotkeys and showing them in the menu are also good UI practices.
