    Great idea, disappointing statistics

I love the idea of this app and I will continue to use it, but I do have one major factor that’s keeping me from buying a subscription to premium. After you write your set amount of words for the day, the app “analyzes” your text and determines the main topics and the overall tone. It will label your writing either negative or positive depending on what it finds. I thought that was the coolest idea! Not only is the writing alone part of the app a great concept, but to have statistics as well?! I was sold! Until... I wrote a few entries and it continued to get my overall text wrong. It seems to pick random words as your main topics that you have written, not actual focuses of your text. It then told me my overall mood was negative because 33% of my text was negative? Umm, correct me if I’m wrong but wouldn’t that make 67% positive therefore the majority of it should be labeled a positive entry??? It also gave me the same 33% multiple times like it’s just choosing a statistic rather than any actual algorithm at work, especially not one that is close to accurate. I would recommend this app to people, but only the free version as the subscription is so you can continue getting statistics on your writing. If the creators were able to make this app actually analyze the writing somewhat correctly I would definitely pay for a subscription, but not in the meantime.

Lack of Auto save feature is a major issue

As another reviewer mentioned, losing data is a huge problem here. The developer’s response to that reviewer irritated me—there’s no one correct way to journal. So how I should or shouldn’t use the app is irrelevant—if I’m using it in the morning, then have an interruption (family, pets, realizing I’m late and need to speed things up) and have a chance to finish what I started, the content ought to still be there, as it would with a paper journal. Or, frankly, a word document. Disappointed with a basic function that every other writing app I have manages, since anyone knows the most important thing is not to lose your stuff. I’ve lost it too many times, not realizing it wouldn’t auto save, to continue using this app. Not to mention that then the feature I liked, the word count bar, gets wiped, which makes the pleasure of using the app totally discouraging instead of positive. I was trying to use this solely for journaling to keep up a habit, but they’re breaking a basic habit law (make it easy), so I’ll keep searching.

Still doesn't save until you hit the check button and say yes

New version says don't worry about losing what you write because we save it to iCloud. Thanks for trying guys! One step closer. However, nothing is saved until I hit the save command and say yes. Up to then if the app crashes, my phone runs out of battery, or I switch to a memory-hungry app I will lose what I've written. Look at how Notes does it. Not one letter can be lost. Example: 1. Open Notes 2. New note 3. Type a letter - say A 4. Double-click and swipe up on notes to kill it 5. Open Notes RESULT: Your one-letter note is still there. Microsoft doing things well. Old review: One really big flaw This would be a good - maybe great - app if they fix one big flaw. For me losing data is a monster pet peeve. So when I wrote several pages I really was unhappy when the app lost them. How did this happen? Simple: until you hit Save your text seems to be only stored in memory. If you switch to another app that uses a lot of memory iOS may kill this app and your writing will be lost. Microsoft tells devs to save everything before relinquishing control but it looks like this app doesn't take that advice. I'll try the app again when I hear they've fixed the problem. AFTER I've verified the fix by double-clicking the home button and swiping up on the app to kill it. If my writing is gone so is the app!

Fate makes me get this app

As been long tortured by bp and really need relief tonight, I was trying to find a way to note all my thoughts that could provide me some clues about solving those problems in my heart. And after several searches I found this, intuitively I feel this is the very app I need, no other purchasing needed, just friendly features you’ve been always wanted. I learned that this app had some issues days before, but it was solved and looks all good now. To devs, hope you can keep up marking such nice apps and help more people learn about themselves, and their life. My writing may be not so linear and heard to understand. But all I want to say is, be well everyone!
