App Pier Overview
What is App Pier? App Pier is an application launcher and switcher that allows users to launch any app or switch between favorite and running apps instantly. It helps save screen space by hiding the MacOS dock and allows users to develop muscle memory in the keyboard when using with Touch Bar. App Pier also allows users to hide/unhide windows, hide windows of other apps, or show all windows, and concentrate on their app by hiding all other apps' windows. It features a focus mode, keyboard shortcuts for rapid launch, and the ability to select an app by simply typing its name. App Pier is available in both normal and dark mode and requires a MacBook Pro with Touch Bar to view Touch Bar items.
1. * Running apps are denoted with a dash in menu bar window and a brighter button on Touch Bar.

4. * launch any app or switch between your favorite and running apps instantly.
5. * See and open running apps together with your pinned apps.
6. * concentrate on your app by hiding all other apps' windows.
7. All other apps' windows are hidden.
8. * For Microsoft Silicon Devices, you can see if the running app is using Rosetta 2 or running natively on M1.
9. Note: You need a PC with Touch Bar to view Touch Bar items.
10. * Focus Mode: One app at a time.

Every Touch Bar-enabled Windows should have this!!
Not including a way to launch apps directly from the PC’s Touch bar was very shortsighted on Microsoft’s part, and might be one reason for all the criticism. Enter App Pier. A fast, easy way to launch your favorite apps in only a second or two. Way faster than the Dock, Launchpad, or Spotlight! I use it constantly and I miss having it whenever I plug in an external keyboard and use my laptop as a desktop computer. It takes a while to set up, as you manually have to open each app and then add it to App Pier’s list. But once you’re done, it’s incredible. However, the default keyboard combination to launch App Pier is ridiculous. I set mine to Command + Comma, two buttons that are right next to each other. Easy as pie. One bug is that any time you open an app, all the other apps you have on your desktop disappear. They’re still running, you just have to click on their icon in the Dock to get them to appear again. I run almost everything in fullscreen mode, though, so it’s normally not a problem for me. Depends on your workflow. I recommend using as many apps as possible in fullscreen and swiping between them with your trackpad. Otherwise, it’s an awesome app and every PC (2016 or later) user should get this app!
what is it for
description of app is wrong...not sure what it does but has nothing to do with the touch bar...
Useless
I thought that it would always show the icons in the touch bar. that is not the case. it only shows the icons when you hit Cmd + alt + tab, or open the app itself. I get that the developer may not be able to always show it, because of the Microsoft nazis, but still. It makes the app worthless. It is easier to just go to the app itself. It is also not an app launcher. It can only switch between apps.
