Very useful, a bit buggy
I mostly love this app - it’s saved me several trips to wherever on earth they still have fax machines and it would get 5 stars except for a few issues. It doesn’t tell you there’s a 30MB limit for the files you can attach to a single fax - if you do go over that limit and decide the easiest way to proceed is to optimize the images, SnapFax really starts to have trouble. First - the files I added to be faxed were NOT over the 30MB limit - they were about 21MB, so there must be an issue with how SnapFax calculates the file sizes. I quit Snapfax. Next - I optimized the images and reduced the total file size to 6.8MB tried sending the fax again. It gave me the same message. Maybe I needed to delete the current files and re-add them? Nope - SnapFax crashes instead. Thinking it was a file name/reference location issue, I renamed the files and moved them to a new location, then relaunched SnapFax, recreated the fax and, again, got the same message. Hoping a restart will fix the problem…
Super easy, free to obtain and inexpensive to use
I need to fax things every now and then, but not enough to buy a fax PC (which would end up requiring a long-distance call anyway!). Similarly, it doesn’t make economical sense for me to download one of those “subscription” fax apps when I only need to use it MAYBE a few times a year. This fit the bill beautifully! It was free to download, and inexpensive to use (just purchase “fax credits”). I payed for my fax credits via my iTunes account, so it was downright seamless and effortless. Using this was a genuine pleasure. Highly recommended!
Quick and Easy to use. Fit my immediate needs
I had a document that needed to be faxed off as quickly as possible, the only problem is that I don’t have a Fax PC and traveling to some place like FedEx Kinkos was not an option. This app delivered as advertised allowing me to send off my fax and cover letter with little to no effort. The only thing that I wish was possible is that maybe it wouldn’t charge a Credit for the Cover Page. Small complaint for an otherwise flawless execution.
Seems OK, Buuuutttt
1) I don’t know what they mean by fax credit. Is it per fax, per page, per fax and per page, what? 2) Also, if you want to review the previous documents, what phone number it was sent to you are out of luck. You could accidentally sent it to the person who should not have seen it and you would not even know. 3) It does not give you a review of the cover letter either. You can not see it, print it, or save it. So if you had to go to court to prove your case, you’re SOL. 4) If you sent it to a non-fax number it looks as if you’re still paying for it. 5) Also, sometimes you get pre-designed forms that you may not need to send all the pages. Snapfax, doesn’t allow you to select the pages you prefer to send, so that makes you pay for what you don’t want to fax, or having to go through all the work of printing, re-scanning, then faxing. Wayyy too much work. So obviously they’re too snooty to address these issues that seem basic to adjust.
Love this program
Like many people in a world of texting, email, and scanning, the need to FAX a document is pretty minimal, but there are instances, especially in the medical field, where nothing but a fax will do. I installed SnapFax so I could send EKGs to my doctor over a period of time. It worked perfectly, was cost-effective, and never let me down. However, at some point, the App Store let me know there was an updated version, but I couldn't download it. Something about a different Microsoft ID. Anyway, I contacted the company, and I got a very clear explation of what to do in a couple of hours. Great customer service.
