    Very Simple and works perfectly

    I have the paid for version 1.3 it does exactly what it claims. Super Simple with hints on the right for the tools. Exactly what I needed for a quick map of a hiking trail at our AirBnB, very easy to mark interesting locations with text and icon. Not fancy but very quick with limited customization. I do find best way to save the map is to take a screen shot (command-option-4) and outline the area you want. If you use the in app capture the text and icons change a bit and can obsure each other, this is my only complaint and so easy to work around.

    Crashes.... a lot

    I can go about 5 minutes until it crashes. Other than that, it does exactly what I need.

    Freezes up when I use it

    I was looking for a very simple way to create a very simple map and this looked perfect. Each time I tried to place a marker or text it froze and I had to force it to quit. Maybe it isn’t compatible with my operating system. Additionally, having a search feature would be wonderful. Maybe that comes with the paid version. I might consider using or paying for it if it didn’t freeze up and it had search capability.

    Simple and lacking

    This a great tool for creating simple overlays on Microsoft’s Map program. However, areas and lines are not editable except for width and color. If you make a mistake, you must start all over. It would be great if the developers would make lines and areas editable

    Ok Mapping Program

    Ahoy Map Maker is a small, limited mapping system. What it does, it does well, but there is much that it needs. For example, if you create a label you can't set the background. If you create a map point, you can't show its name. You can only export JPEGs, unless you print to a PDF. If you do that, you can't pick the area to print only the whole screen. For free or for $5, it's not a bad deal.
