System Designer Overview

What is System Designer? System Designer is a low-code development platform that uses UML to define a model for creating systems. It generates the skeletons of all methods and provides helpers to manage components. The app allows users to create components graphically and run the system directly from the platform. System Designer can be used on macOS, iPhone, iPad, or any browser and requires no backend to work. It also has a Github module to synchronize work between different devices. The app can load the model of any system that runs on the browser or Node.js and allows users to edit them.

System Designer Features and Description

1. System Designer can load the model of any system that runs on the browser or on Node.js. You can see the schemas, models, components and methods of the running system and you can edit them.

2. System Designer helps you to design this model and to generate the classes and components to build your system.

3. All modifications to the model done inside System Designer will be send to the running system.

4. System Designer uses UML, a standard, to define your model.

5. In fact, System Designer acts as an ODM (Object-Document Mapper) to manage your components as NoSQL Documents.

6. Once you have created your model, System Designer generates the skeletons of all your methods.

7. You can run your system directly from System Designer and then export it to JavaScript, HTML, JSON or a Node.js module or a Graphviz file.

8. Create a component in System Designer is like creating a document in a NoSQL Database.

9. You can also install it in your project: System Designer requires no backend to work, it is a full web application.

10. No matter the frameworks you use and the code you write, the most important is the model that you define to create your system.

11. System Designer provides you helpers to manage your components.

Software Reviews and Criticism

    It's great and innovative

    I LOVE IT. Thanks 🙏

Why do we have to edit json-like files????

Any reason why there isn't a form to create each data-structure and relationship? Kind of a must-have feature. Without it, using index cards for Class-Responsibilty-Collaborator maps — or even drawing rough UML on printer paper — is way less of a headache. It's also more efficient for iteration purposes.

Too few reviews for how great this app is.

I was looking for something to make some nice UML charts. This does that, but makes me think in a much deeper way about how my project will come together. I've learned how to plan software in a new way, and I and my master's thesis thank you for that. Oh and the UML looks great as well. I also love that you can sync between platforms (including iOS) via Github. And the documentation is great. This whole thing has been a great experience.

    A must have

This is so good and I have used it several times already before starting development. There is definitely room for improvement and can be a little confusing the first time around the UI. But, I still can't go below 5 stars on this app! Suggestion to the dev: the app icon is pretty big and sticks out weird on the dock. You may want to reduce it to fit the standard size. :)
