  Looks better than other apps, but has severe limitations and bugs.

  I liked Citationsy first because of its light-weight character, ease-of-use and the accessible UI. The search engine works OK in many cases but eventually I had to put in a considerable work in myself to have proper citations. So not as helpful as it should. What bugged me in the long-term were frequent bugs in the app, the disastrous BibTex Export function and the bad performance as soon as you customise the background image of a collection. I've switched to Zotero and I wish I had done so earlier. While not looking as sleek it is 100% more reliable (in particular the search engine), has to not fight with certaij bugs due to being a native app (and not web app structure). I know, this is a side project of the developer and it is certainly a promising idea. But given the competition in the market I would not want to pay € 20/year, nor use it any longer for free, given the limitations and bugs.

  Great app witch a bit of a way to go!

  I have to say Citasionsy really does what it promises and it does so well. However, to really be able to use it in a productive way I need to be able to at least comment my entries in the bibilgraphy. What was the text about, and what were the important take-aways? When this festure come (or if I discover it because I missed it) I will change my review to 5 stars.
