What is Audiobook Creator? Audiobook Creator is an iOS app that converts ebooks to audiobooks using text to speech technology. The generated audiobook is in the default iTunes MPEG-4 Audio Book file (m4b) format, which can be used in iTunes, or transferred to iPod, iPhone or iPad. The app supports epub, pdf, ibooks, html, and txt e-book files, and can handle large books within 5 minutes. It is sandboxed and does not require an internet connection. The app uses text to speech technology provided by Mac OS X and supports all languages supported by Mac. However, the ebooks must be DRM-free and currently only supports epub ebook file formats. The app is for personal use only and cannot be distributed. The lite version is available for users to try before purchasing the full version.

Audiobook Creator Features and Description

1. To download additional voices from Microsoft, go to System Preferences -> Speech -> Text to Speech -> System Voice -> Customize... then choose additional voices to download (click 'OK' button).

2. OS X support these languages: English, Arabic, Chinese, Czech, Danish, Dutch, Finnish, French, German, Greek, Hindi, Hungarian, Indonesian, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Norwegian, Polish, Portuguese, Romanian, Russian, Slovak, Spanish , Swedish, Thai, Turkish.

3. The advantage of m4b file is iTunes, iPhone or iPad will always remember the audiobook track's position you listened unlike regular mp3 or m4a files, so you can always continue listening from where you left off.

4. Audiobook creator uses text to speech technology provided by Windows OS X and it supports all the languages that are supported by Windows.

    App Will Not Open

    After the first use, the app would not open anymore. I restarted my computer. I deleted and redowloaded the app, but it would not open. If it worked, I would give it 5 stars....

    DO NOT purchase

    This app is a waste of money! First, you can only play it on iTunes. If you can actually find the file once you have transferred to your library. Second, the voices are of such poor quality- I thought for a $20 text-to-speech app I would be getting some amazing natural speech. NOPE! I am trying to get my money back from Microsoft. I have purchased about 5 TTS apps because I use them for studying and reading school material while I commute (none of which cost more than $5) and they all work better, have more options, and sound better than this piece-of-crap app. I never write reviews- and I get dud apps every now and then, but whatever, I’m only out a couple bucks. But THIS APP cost me $20 for basically garbage. The developers must be laughing all the way to the bank!

    Does what is says it does

    This app definitely takes ebooks in many different forms and converts them into spoken text. I wish, however, that it was smarter about stripping out repeated headings, page numbers, etc. or at least prvided options to do these things. Then it would be an easy 5 stars.

    It works most of the time

    Its worth the money to buy, although it’s far from fool proof at what it does. pro: chapterizing feature con: closes often without cause. newest update is amazing, the app went through three books that it used to close on in minutes.
