EasyRes Overview
What is EasyRes? EasyRes is a Mac app that allows users to quickly and easily select resolutions for any connected screen from the menu bar or from the Yosemite Notification Center. The app provides live animated previews of screen resolutions before selecting them, making it easier to choose the right resolution size for your needs. EasyRes also fetches all available resolutions for each screen from the system and groups them by Retina and non-Retina modes. The app is HDTV smart and remembers recently selected resolutions for each screen. Users can add and customize labels for any resolution on any screen and hide resolutions that they are not interested in. EasyRes also has an option to automatically launch at login.

You saved me!
I have a 3840x1080 UW and sometimes I like to split my monitor to 1920x1080 on two computers when I'm working. I was using cscreen for this, but Big Sur nerfed it and it no longer allowed me to use a nonstandard resolution. EasyRes allows me to very quickly go back and forth from using half of my monitor during the work day and the full UW screen in the evening. I know I sound like an ad for EasyRes, but you have no idea how frustrated I was spending half of my day trying to figure out a way to do this after updating to Big Sur!
Brought back the full menu bar on my MBP w/ Notch!
Short and simple review: for years I've relied on the menu bar for a lot of various tools and while I don't mind the aesthetics of the notch on my 14" MBP, I was frustrated losing the real estate. Enter EasyRes: A quick setting to 1512x945 and while I lose 37 pixels across the top of the screen, my user experience is returned perfectly! And I can return things to "normal" any time I need to without opening multiple settings panes. 5 Star/Perfect App!
brilliant little app, extremely useful
I'm a teacher and connect my Pc to multiple external monitors and projectors every week. EasyRes makes it easy for me to find the best resolution for each external display and remember it. EasyRes also lets me create my own labels for different resolutions, such as "best for home 4K monitor" and "best for projector in room 221". The developer continually updates it, and is responsive to questions and feedback. Highly recommended! And, you can't beat the price!
Problem solved!
Like many of you I was stuck working from home a lot more then we are used to and trying to get everything to work right can be a bit of a pain. I was trying to setup a second monitor on my old Windows to give me a larger desktop to simulate my office setup. I purchased a second monitor identical to the one in the office, but for some reason I couldn’t see the resolution options in settings for the second monitor. I know that holding down the opt/alt key in display settings brings up more resolution options. When I did this, i was getting a blank menu option screen. I tried replacing the cables, different adapters swapped the monitor from home with work, nothing seem to work. Luckily I stumbled across this app. Problem solved! I can’t express how easily and intuitively this app works. Thank You!
Life saver
This app saved my life. I used to have the old MBP 2019, and when I connected it to my external monitor I would get 2560x1440 @ 60Hz, which was perfect for me. I got the MBP 2021, but when I connected it to the external monitor, I'd get 3840x2160 @ 30Hz, which is insanely slow. I was looking for a solution for hours before finding this app, which let me choose the 2560x1440 @ 60Hz again. Thanks so much - I'll recommend this to anyone with the same issue I had!
