  SOLUTION FOR VOLUME SELECTION ISSUE!!!

  I had to give this app at least 3 stars because even though I had the same problem with no disks/volumes showing up to select in this app, after 20 minutes of searching on the Softtote website I finally found a solution. The problem is a compatibility issue with the newer versions of OSX. I think Softtote should really update the description so that customers can know before hand what version of OSX this is compatible with. Once I downloaded the current version from the Softtote website it worked just fine. I have a 1tb hard drive and am running a few other programs, so it says a full search will take around 7 hours. I made a rookie mistake with my business and have to recover these files so I'll bend over and take it. Here is what their website says: 2. Can't show my devices with your software, why? Reason: App Store doesn't accept new apps or app updates, so the version you download or purchase from App Store is not the latest updated version. If you are running the Windows OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion, the App Store version cannot read or scan your internal disk(s) or external device(s) at all. Solution: So after purchase from App Store, please go to download the latest version from our website. The new downloaded version will automatically be automatically registered and can read or scan your both internal disk(s) and external device(s). (It will not charge you any longer)

  Works as advertised, but requires patience.

  I had an SD card suddenly become unreadable by my camera and my computer while there were still pictures that needed to be saved. After reading so many reviews about not seeing any drives show up I was concerned I would have the same issue. When I first launched the app it seemed I did, in fact, have that issue; however I ended up letting it stay open in the background while I looked for other options and when I happened to switch back to it I suddenly had drives listed. From there it was relatively quick to scan the card and recover the photos. Bottom line: This app worked for me but should have had some bit of UI to indicate it was scanning for disks (that seems like the only reasonable explination for the delay) so as not to appear non-functional.

  Recovered my pics!

  I'm far from computer savy and was sick when I realized all the pics I took with my new camera were erased! I figured I would try this "free" fix first and then pay if that didn't work ... didn't have to pay - this program worked like a charm! I put my SD card into the card reader on the computer, downloaded the software and waited. It took about 1.5 hours, but the software was able to recover all my pictures! This was a life saver! I've watched enough CSI to know info is never really deleted, but I thought I didn't have the skill or resources to find these pictures again. If I can do it, you can too! Good luck!

  Free Version Loaded - Paid Version Did Not

  Looking to recover files after my SSD drive went out on my Windows. The free version of this product installed fine and seemed to be scanni9ng my files. However, then a pop up informed me that the Free version only recovered graphic files, not documents. For that I would need the Full Paid version. So I paid my money and downloaded it from their website. It installed fine and “seemed” to open okay. Now it wanted me to enter the license key, which I did. BUT … when I hit the Register button, all I got was a message saying “Invalid Internet Connection”. My internet connection was and is working just fine. I sent them a message a few days ago. NO response. I sent another message this morning. So far, still no response. If they don’t reply today I will have my credit card company charge back the purchase to them.
