Solid application from a responsive developer

I have been using iBeams Pro for several years now and what has impressed me most is the responsiveness of the developer. This is a nice, simple application that does the job very well and saves a ton of time for calculating indeterminate beams.

    Very Well Done!

After being a long-time user of Dr Beam Pro for OS9, a similar application for OSX is welcome! iBeam Pro is easy to use and edit. Applying loads and getting results are a snap! I had a few comments about the app that I forwarded to the developer. He responded quickly and indicated that my suggestions would be incorporated in future releases. Can't beat that! Very well done!

    Absolutely Terrible

In working the simplest of problems, (a beam with one load and two supports) it either crashes or freezes every time calculations are performed. I have an app for this on my phone that cost $5 that drastically outperforms this outrageously overpriced program. Do yourself a favor and spend your money on something else. This is a 100% waste of money. Maybe they will be able to fix the problems with an update. Other complaints: can not change the direction of force arrows or moment arrows making it difficult to follow on the screen. All force arrows point down, so if a positive force is desired, you have to use a downward arrow and make it negative, and the same with the moments. Also the moment arrows are displayed about 2" to the left of their location. Also the moment diagrams have an opposite sign convention (positive down). Also there is no way to zoom in/out or scale the plots to be able to see the curves and data more easily. For this amount of money you should also be able to see the equations used for each section of the curve, analyze 3 dimensional loadings including torque, and even change the beam cross section shape and find the cross section properties. If I could give this app a negative rating I would. Its a complete rip off and whoever made it should have to pay people to use it instead of charging an absurd price.
