Worth a look
Beautiful graphics and easy controls. More levels, especially in the free version would be nice. Definitly seems worth spending some money to support and play more advanced levels.
Fun game, beautiful graphics
Note: v1.1.0 works great on Yosemite. If you haven’t tried it recently, try it again. Enjoyable little game. Just updating this review to note that it works.
bad/incomplete download? maybe a virus?
game starts but everything is dark with a few strange purple/green shadows while the music plays. i can click around blindly and eventually something stumble onto a button that takes me to another screen of black with different purple/green shadows. have to force quit to get out of the game. it seems like there's something missing from the download. other reviewers don't seem to have that issue - maybe they've just uploaded an updated version that's buggy? There is a mention at the bottom of the app description saying "Cogs requires hardware support for OpenGL 2.0 or higher" but there's no link to find this requirement, or even test if I have it. Looks like I don't - and I guess that means I'm out of luck. Went to the Cogs Lite Support link, it didn't mention anything about my problem, but it did say some downloads of the game had been infected with a virus called GLaDOS. Maybe that's the problem...I don't know. btw, I'm running 10.6.7 on a Windows Mini - not trying to run this on an outdated PC or OS. Oh well, you get what you pay for. Hopefully, I didn't just get a virus. Definitely didn't pay for that.
Good from the start
I often have trouble figuring out what needs to be done but this game is easy to figure out the sequence of moves that needs to happen, even if it takes a little ingenuity to actually execute the moves of the cogs. I like that you can move at your own pace and are not penalized for being slow. The goofy gismos are fun. Playing the lite version for a half hour convinced me to get the full version.
