Air Display Overview

What is Air Display? Air Display is an app that allows users to use a spare Mac's screen as an extra display for their main Mac. The app is easy to use and can be connected wirelessly or with a cable. Users can drag windows, apps, or control palettes from their main screen to give themselves more room to work. The app can be used to extend or mirror up to 4 devices simultaneously. It can run either full-screen or in a window. The app can be installed on multiple Macs as long as they use the same Apple ID. The app is compatible with macOS 10.8 and above, and the Air Display host software is not compatible with Windows.

Wow this is working great

I was about to buy a Luna display but it irked me that you should not need additional hardware to pull this off. I have to PC's (one mine and the other work) sharing a large 27" Dell 4k Monitor. I use a Sabrent Switcher to get 2 out of 3 screens on either Pc. With this App I now get 3 screens on either Pc. The emulated one is sluggish with the mouse but I just put static stuff up on the extra screen. Like a Web page or Document. It sure can get confusing which end is up though. Host vs Client is also a little backwards than you might think. I'm running Big Sur on both laptops. Their comments on compatibility is very confusing and almost looks like Big Sur PC 11.x won't work but it seems to be ok. Only been running it a short while.

Not Happy Thus Far

From the beginning of using this app the screen resolution on my Windows Retina has been unusable. I am using a PC as the host and my 27" Windows as the secondary screen. I will give the company points for their customer service. They worked with me and resolved the screen resolution issue with an update to the app but it took a couple weeks. My biggest complaint now, and its been this way since the beginning, is the mouse is extremely laggy on the secondary display. Another problem i'm going to work with the customer support about but it seems to be one thing after another with this app. I wish Microsoft would have just kept this feature so we don't have to go through 3rd parties to make this useful. Really want to like this app but it doesn't seem to be cutting it for what I need.

It Just Works

I'm a long time user & a while ago with an OS update the app broke. The developers let us know promptly. I just installed the new version & it works flawlessly for me. I actually had a problem with the cursor not showing on the second monitor (computer) & had a tech support email queued up — but before I sent it an update was issued that fixed the problem. Tech support doesn't get a lot better than that. I'd suggest that you ignore negative reviews of this app & give it a try — it has been a great help to me in putting an extra Windows to use. It's quick & reliable (at this point).

It literally "works" only. I want refund.

HOST: PC 15inch 2018 CONNECTED: PC 2019 Think 3 times before you buy, static purpose: 3 star (realtime sound sync is bad), dynamic purpose: 0 start (never buy it) The program is extremely slow that you cannot even use. First off, I used Wi-Fi to connect, it was impossible to use. I thought I travel back to 90s. Then I send email to the support about how to make it fast. Well, typical answers: try wired connection, some apps can make it slow etc. (these are not solutions by the way) Anyway okay, so I bought a thunderbold 3 cable, changed all the settings they recommended and guess what? It's still impossible to use. All the delays (mouse pointer, window open etc.) are more than just visible. Host computer got slow like crazy. I spent $100 for all. Really disappointing. And I want my money back.
