finessTV Overview
What is finessTV? finessTV is an app that plays the live stream of a TV receiver, provided that the receiver is Sat IP (DLNA/UPnP) compatible and announces a M3U playlist of the available live channels via DLNA/UPnP. Alternatively, a M3U playlist URL can be specified in the preferences. The app displays the available channels in a list and the current live stream in the main window. Channels can be searched, resorted, and selected using keyboard shortcuts. The app allows for recording of the current live stream, toggling fullscreen display, and adjusting audio volume. The app is not affiliated with Fritz!Box, Octopus, or VideoLAN non-profit organization.
1. After the successful connection/loading of the playlist, the available channels are displayed in a list and the current live stream is displayed in the main window.
2. Fritz!Box is a trademark of AVM Computersysteme Vertriebs GmbH, Octopus is a trademark of Digital Devices GmbH and VLC is a trademark of VideoLAN non-profit organization.
3. The TV receiver must be Sat IP (DLNA/UPnP) compatible - like the Fritz!Box Cable Router, FRITZ!WLAN Repeater DVB‑C or Octopus NET.
4. And must announce a M3U playlist of the available live channels via DLNA/UPnP.
5. Minimizing the main window hides the channel window.
6. Selecting a channel will change the channel in the main window.
7. The channel playlist with their streaming URLs are then automatically available.
8. This app is not affiliated with Fritz!Box, Octopus, or VideoLAN non-profit organization.
9. A double click in the main window toogles the fullscreen display.
10. Or the current channel can be moved to the top (for easier reordering of the preferred channels).
11. Alternatively, a M3U playlist URL can be specified in the preferences by copying the M3U download link of the receiver.
