What is Chickamauga Battles!? Chickamauga Battles is a mobile app that allows users to experience the Battle of Chickamauga, the first major battle of the Civil War fought in Georgia in 1863. The app consists of a total of 23 missions, including a tutorial campaign and four campaigns that cover key events from the battle. The final mission is a large-scale refight of the entire battle. Users can play as either the Union or Confederate army in all missions except for the tutorial. The app provides an immersive experience of the historic battle and allows users to learn more about the Civil War.
1. As the total battle was fought over a vast area this final mission is at a different scale than the more detailed individual actions.
2. The 'Battle of Chickamauga' mission is a refight of the whole battle in a single game.
3. The Battle of Chickamauga was the most significant Union defeat in the western theatre and had the second highest number of casualties of any civil war battle, after the Battle of Gettysburg.
4. The first major battle of the Civil War was fought in Georgia, from September the 18th-20th 1863.
5. Bragg in an attempt to reoccupy Chattanooga decided to meet a part of Rosecrans army and defeat them, allowing him to move back into the city.

8. The army of the Cumberland under Major General William Rosecrans engaged the Confederate Army of Tennessee under General Braxton Bragg.
9. In early September Rosecrans had forced Bragg's army out of Chattanooga and was following them south.
