FineReader PDF Overview
What is FineReader PDF? FineReader PDF for Mac is an app that helps reduce inefficiencies resulting from inaccessible, non-searchable documents, information, and workflows that involve a mix of paper and digital documents. It allows users to extract, reuse, and edit content of PDFs, paper documents, and their scanned images by converting them to editable formats such as DOCX, XLSX, RTF, ODT, and others. The app also allows users to digitize documents into PDFs for easy retrieval, reliable long-term archiving, and accessibility. FineReader PDF for Mac is suitable for anyone who works with PDFs, scans, and paper documents on a day-to-day basis and needs to edit and reuse their content, digitize them, or convert them to formats suitable for sharing, storing, and archiving. The app is free to download and provides 7-days full access to all features. After 7 days free trial, users can enable Premium by choosing between a 1-year subscription with annual auto-renewal, a 1-month subscription with annual auto-renewal, or a free plan, which provides viewing and navigating PDF files only. Son of Bob
Works like a charm, mostly used for getting accurate word counts for English and Hebrew pdfs, the EN comes out clean, the HE gets messed up beacuse the app doesn't recognize the characters correctly but it gives us an accurate word count which is what we need.
Beware overlap with older Abbyy FineReader install...
Apparently, when I purchased the AppStore version, the application became confused with an earlier non-AppStore Abbyy version. With thanks to Abbyy's tech support group, uninstalling the older version and re-installing the AppStore version corrected my issue.
Works well for me
Does a great job of OCRing my PDF's
Broken app
Doesn't work. As another review mentioned months ago, and the dev even acknowledged the export function is broken. You have no way to save or export your pdf, ocr'd or not. Meaning this app is essentially useless. Surprised Microsoft let these guys steal peoples money and allows them to keep this on the app store. Wasn't cheap either.
Broken
This is a broken app, always displaying "Operation Stopped:FENAddPdfOperation" errors in any circumstances and being stopped at any time. OCR feature and the image editor are getting worse and worse. Definitely worse than the Catalina compatible version. Truly unusable.
