Celestia Overview
What is Celestia? Celestia is a 3D space simulator and planetarium app that allows users to explore the universe in real-time. It features an expandable database of celestial objects, including planets, moons, star clusters, and galaxies, which can be viewed from any point in space and time. The app accurately calculates the position and movement of solar system objects in real-time. Celestia also serves as a planetarium, showing accurate positions of solar system objects in the sky and allowing users to navigate to any world and land on its surface. The app's catalogues can be easily expanded with add-ons containing new objects, high-resolution textures, and 3D models for asteroids and spacecraft.
1. There are many different add-ons available containing new objects like comets or stars, high-resolution textures of Earth and other well mapped solar system bodies, as well as 3D models for asteroids and spacecraft on precise trajectories.
2. When used as a planetarium, Celestia shows accurate positions of solar system objects in the sky.
3. The position and movement of solar system objects is calculated accurately in real time at any rate desired.
4. You can switch labels and other supporting features on and off with hotkeys, or zoom in and out on an object of interest, for example Jupiter’s system of moons.
5. From planets and moons to star clusters and galaxies, you can visit every object in the expandable database and view it from any point in space and time.
6. Celestia simulates many different types of celestial objects.
7. Celestia serves as a planetarium – for an observer on any celestial object.
8. Even fictional objects from well-known sci-fi franchises can be found.
9. Celestia lets you explore our universe in three dimensions.
10. You can easily navigate to any world and land on its surface.
11. Celestia’s catalogues can be easily expanded.

A work in progress
I was an avid user of Celestia on the computer when I was a kid. I’d come home and explore the Galaxy for what seemed like hours. When I heard they were continuing development, including making a mobile app, I was beyond excited. I downloaded it, played around with it on the phone, and enjoyed myself. It was a great throwback, but there is just something different about it, since it is adapted for a smaller touch screen device. First, it has the same old feel, but it seems less than the computer version. I know as a kid I installed massive amounts of add-ons to make it even more enjoyable, but I found the vanilla version on my phone to be bland. The quality seems to not be scaled down for the phone’s ppi ratio. All of these things I noticed are probably going to be fixed, along with hopefully some updated textures, such as Pluto’s newly revealed surface. Thank you for a life long dream of mine, keep improving, I am genuinely impressed so far. The program that once took a large computer to run only needs a phone’s computer chip now.
Thank you
From all of us trying to find a spot for humanity before the big rip or the chill. Ty. Highly educational tool to inspire future generations to think past “now” and focus on the preservation of mankind by expanding our probabilities of survival through scientific data and exploration. Once we conquered colonization we can deal with the rip or the chill. Whatever may come. Either that or extinction. By stimulating the minds of our youth we can achieve longevity of our race. If we only had an opportunity to show this program to the masses of young people through the educational system we could have a future pocket of dreamers. I would recommend pc atm. However, you’ve done well.
Great app but a suggestion
Add 12 more moons to Saturn because Saturn now has 82 moons If you don’t know them, look them up. They are already named for you by other astronomers, but they are not official. This is all I could say tho, so bye, and thx for reading if you did!
Great!
It is a good game for space lovers like me but I have a suggestion. you should add uy scuti to the game. It is the largest Star we have discovered and I have always wanted it to be on here. other than that this game is great!. five stars!.
