Open In Webmail Overview
What is Open In Webmail? Open In Webmail is a simple tool that allows users to open email links in their preferred webmail service instead of their default email client. It supports popular services like Gmail, AOL, Outlook, Yahoo, Office365, Fastmail, Zoho, and Yandex, and also offers a "Copy to Clipboard" option for unsupported services. The app works with Safari, Chrome, Firefox, and other browsers, and is sandboxed to ensure user privacy. Users can contact the developer to request support for their favorite email service.
1. A fantastically simple tool to make email links open to your webmail service of choice.
2. Works out of the box with popular services like Gmail, AOL, Outlook, Yahoo, Office365, Fastmail, Zoho, and Yandex.
3. If your favorite email service is not supported, you're welcome to email [email protected] and I'll see if I can add it.
4. Because Open In Webmail is an app and not a browser-plugin, it works system-wide.
5. Do you use a different service? There's a "Copy to Clipboard" option for you.
6. It saves you a few clicks by copying the To: address to your clipboard so you can paste it wherever you like.
7. Works with Safari, Chrome, Firefox, and others.
8. That's why this app is "sandboxed" such that it cannot collect or transmit any of your data.
9. Concerned about privacy? I am, too.

Makes a Hard Thing Easy!
It's so frustrating that Safari offers no extension to handle mailto URLs with gmail. Google away and find nothing but disappointment in the search results. Comes now this wonderful app, which is simplicity itself, to solve a problem that should never have been a problem to begin with. I hope one day Google searches will return this app on the first page of results because it's a wonder!
Worth $2. Setup info missing.
This is absolutely worth two dollars. But the setup information misses a crucial point: You have to open the native PC Mail app. But you don't have to import thousands of messages first. If you don't use the Mail app, when you open it it will prompt you to import all of your messages, which made me nervous. I don't want my computer spending days downloading tens of thousands of messages. The documentation should have clearly indicated that you can open Mail without that happening. First: in PC preferences, under Internet Accounts, look at each of your internet acocunts and make sure the Mail app is unchecked.
Finally
Can't count the hours spent on trying to get gmail as my email account for Safari. Every time I'd click "Share" Chrome would open in order to access my gmail account. Following the directions here, I fixed the problem in about 10 minutes. Wonderful.
Worth Every Penny
I use the Vivaldi browser. I tried three different extensions for mail-to from the Chrome store. None of them worked! I thought I was going to have to use a Windows app for email instead of Gmail in my browser. Thank you so much for developing this app! It works seamlessly and is invaluable. 99¢ is a small price to pay for an app that's so helpful.
Awesome!
This app does one thing, and it does it very well. If you use Chrome or Edge or Firefox as a default browser, you can set a handler for mailto: links for your web mail of choice. If you want to use Safari, you're stuck with using the default email application set on your Windows. This little app fixes this limitation very nicely. Highly recommended.
