    Simple Productivity Tracker

The free version provides great multi-platform use for someone like me who doesn’t own a freelancing business and, as such, doesn’t need the capability to export billing documents or whatever to receive pay. I just use it to track how much time I spend studying, completing homework, and writing reports for each of my classes so that I have an overview and graph of what subjects I focus the most on. Seeing the numbers of hours worked on each subject helps motivate me to continue to keep my bar graphs high, and the timer function is much easier than imputing your own time into something like Google Sheets if you want to see graphs of your productivity. The ease of use is superb and simplicity of the app’s aesthetics is pleasing to the eye as well. It doesn’t look cheesy and that’s another big plus. There are also browser extensions and desktop applications for people who want to track their time offline. And the app itself also helps you track your workflow without a connection, then syncs when you’re connected to the internet. A+ job!

    i love toggl!!!

i was recommended toggl when i started working as a graphic design contractor and needed to track my hours and keep an organized log of all my projects. toggl does that perfectly for me. it works across multiple devices really well, i use it on my iphone, Pc, and ipad, and the mobile app is great for figuring out how much i need to be paid. it has a calendar feature where you can mark which days you’d like to see hours for, i usually do the current pay period so i can report my hours to my boss and it’s super convenient to do it from my cell phone. you can also filter by project which i love. if my boss asks me how much i’ve worked on a single project, i can easily check using the helpful filters :) if you’re a freelancer, contractor, or anyone who juggles multiple projects at a time, GET TOGGL. i have nothing bad to say about it after using it for about a year. it is genuinely one of the best apps i use for work. thank you toggl for existing, i love you ❤️

To the penny! I Get Paid What I Earned Now!

As an independent consultant and advisor, I am regularly charging less for my time than I should be because I multi-task projects so I used to jot start and end times but then I’d have to think about any breaks I took or calls that should be billed to someone else. Let’s say that I have shorted myself many times, until I discovered Toggl! Now I can stop a project and instantly switch to another project or even a different client in seconds. I click the start the timer button and then I click stop and jump over to the next project or go back to the client and project I was working on before the interruption. I can then start the timer again and it picks up where I left off. Not only am I ensuring that I get paid appropriately but I also have very professional reports of the client’s name, the project name, time spent on each of their projects and then tags that provide explicit detail of what I was doing with the time being billed. Clients love receiving these reports because it gives them an idea of what is involved in a service and how much time it can take some like myself with more than 25 years of experience. So if they pawn it off to someone that charges less they usually end up having me redo the work and give them advice for future activities that are on their horizon. Love this app! I tell others about it regularly but I’m also kind of selfish. I don’t want everyone to use my competitive advantage.

Love the app. Needs a restructure

I love Toggl, and will keep using it because it has everything I need. I write this review as a suggestion to the developers. I truly think the app needs a complete overhaul. They need to make it easier, its a bit finicky. Its easy to accidentally do many things you dont intend to do, and then not notice. Using the Timery app as an example, that app runs way better than the Toggl app. Toggl on browser runs way better than the Toggle app too. The app needs some quality of life updates, mirror the website if need be. Make a menu to create, edit, add, remove projects and tags like on the website. Make it easier to notice when you accidentally start/end a timer. Make it easier to adjust how much time you've been working on a timer, if you forgot to start it. As I said, Toggl is great, I just wish that they would make the app a bit better. I see myself using toggl on browser way more now that I found out about it, ive always used the app before this.

    Love it! But…

I really love this. I use it as my time tracker for all of my client’s hourly projects. I even use a filtered view and export the “reports” feature every month to accompany my invoices for added transparency to my clients. I really feel like that helps build rapport on a monthly basis with minimal effort (which is important since I’m an independent contractor and don’t have anyone in payroll). The one thing I was hoping would be a little more useful is the “insights” feature. I upgraded to use this feature and was hoping for more of a growth projections type tool but it seems to be a little thin especially if you have no employees. I still see it’s value for someone that has employees or additional contractors on an project but it’s unfortunately not very useful otherwise. if there was a way to input expenses or integrate with quick books for actual profitability and growth trends then that would be super useful.
