I was VERY excited to see this app and immediately purchased it as I was in the middle of a project that needed a diagram. This is one easiest to use diagram apps, BUT there are some pretty significant issues. First, you are very limited with color seletion, which becomes an issue is you are mapping with numerous variable. Second, there is not a text editor. I cannot make words bold, underlined, ect. That is a problem. Third, they need to make it easy to lable the diagram. the way it is set up now, you have to use a box and place the title in that. Not a great idea. I am actually a bit shocked there are some pretty primary functions missing and hope they are quick to fix this. I am not expecting an app with a multitude of editing power, but simple editing, shaping, and color options are basic and should already be part of this app. If they do not fix this in the near future, I will go back to other apps I have used previouly. It is a waste of time to try to find so many work arounds. UPDATE: recent updates have improved the flexibility and potential of this app. some of the primary issues I ran into have been addressed and I am able to add this into my workflow more often. If you need to make diagrams/flow charts then you should check this out. Easy to use and the end product looks great. Thanks for continuing to improve the app. (if you are considering moving to a subscription model do not do it)
Very User Friendly and Visually Appealing
The Fluff: I needed a quick way to create easy to understand workflow diagrams on the fly while on a zoom call. I didnt want an options panel like the space shuttle cockpit to have to navigate through. Something quick, efficient, and easy to learn. Added bonus is that the drawings look fantastic. The Down and Dirty: There are several semi-clunky things I would love to have addressed. Just to name the most useful off the top of my head: Shape selection, editing a shapes color, easily nest shapes or have a way to segment drawings, Addition of focus window flyouts for quick sub process flow diagrams or linkage to another diagram with a hot link and way back to the calling diagram, greater connector design library. But, overall I love this program and use it 10 times a day. Great job and looking ofrward to your updates and future versions!
Keep Working on This
Application offerings in the Windows flowcharting space are surprisingly thin. So I was happy to find this one. On the plus side it implements the simplicity and design elements of PC very well. Output is very Windows-like and attractive. On the minus side, features are still pretty sparse, as other commenters have noted. One particularly annoying problem for me is that when I move an element, or even change its color, the lines that I have drawn to it snap back to the default configuration and I have to drag them back into place. But it's early days and the developers appear responsive to comments. I bought the app because I need it and I like its appearance, and because I want to encourage the developers to keep working on it. There's a lot of potential in the app and a lot of room in the flowcharing space for it to grow.
Perfect for my needs
I needed a drop-dead simple flowchart editor that got out of my way as much as possible. This fit the bill perfectly. I am quite fond of the keyboard shortcuts and the context menus are well thought out. I only wish it was possible to set a default element/relationship and provide custom color schemes, but the first one is the one I really care about. The drag-to-connect elements was a nice touch, but it is somewhat spoiled by having to choose a relationship type. Same with the create element keyboard shortcut. All in all, this is perfect for my needs though. A straight and to the point diagramming tool for PC that works offline. Great Job!
Off to a great start - can't beat the price
I do a lot of process mapping and I am always on the look out for software tools like this. I really like the simplicity of the user interface. This is as intuitive as it gets. I have paid a lot more for a lot less with some other mapping software so I am very happy with this purchase. I look foward to future updates that will hopefully bring a few additional elements and a little more control over the text boxes but this is already a very solid offering for $20.
