    Best KeePass App!

I’ve been using StrongBox for Windows for about 6 months now. Previously, I was using KeePassXC, but after trialing StrongBox for a short period of time, I made the switch. The app is very stable and it is evident that a lot of thought and effort has been put into it. The free trial is exceedingly generous, but I didn’t need to take advantage of it, as I was already using StrongBox on my iPhone and was more than happy to also purchase the Windows version. The dev also offers excellent customer support. I had a question about the iPhone version that I couldn’t find the answer to in the FAQs, and I received a friendly, knowledgable response in a few hours. There are few choices available for using KeePass on the Windows and iPhone. In my opinion, StrongBox is the best, and it is worth every penny. While paying for an app doesn’t guarantee its longevity, it’s a far better business model than free. Actually, there is no such thing as a free app. You pay for it via forfeited privacy, which is why I don’t use free apps. Privacy is hugely important to me, and the dev of StrongBox offers a privacy policy that meets my criteria. I highly recommend both the Windows version and the iOS version.

Great on iOS - even better on PC

I originally purchased Strongbox for iOS so that I could open my password file with my iPhone using the files app on a LAN. That is a wonderful app. While I had been evaluating the desktop version, I was happy with KeepassXC. Until today that is. I upgraded catalina recently and when I started KeepassXC, it crashed. And it continued to crash every time. No access to my password file. StrongBox to the rescue. I clicked on StrongBox and my keepass file was opened without issue. Needless to say, my evaluation is over. I just upgraded and from now on I'm using Strongbox everywhere. And the best thing is I can keep my passwords locally; no cloud storage. I cannot recommend Strongbox enough, no matter where you need to use it.

    Latest update disables search

The latest update disables search and the app forces you to pay a $15 in-app-purchase to reenable search. I have upgraded to KyPass for less than half the price. KyPass also does not have in-app purchases. UPDATE: The vendor responded that the search facility was a time-limited premium feature of the free App Store version of Strongbox. He maintains that the user is notified of this regularly, but I did not see it and the App Store description does not mention that search is a time-limited feature that you will later have to pay $15 to re-enable. The only mention of the search feature that I can see in the App Store description is: "Search your entire set of passwords and secrets instantly and powerfully, with deep search." Although KeePass is free and has very good search functions, I don't mind paying a little for Windows software that can read KeePass files, as is evident by my purchase of KyPass. However, StrongBox is twice as expensive and its "Freemium" costs and behavior are not made clear up front, so the user can end up invested in a product that they later feel coerced to purchase. I'm disappointed in the vendor's response, which seems angry and personal. I suggest either stating the time-limited feature costs up front in the App Store (e.g. Premium vs. Free) or selling the app directly in the App Store and avoiding in-app purchases.

Finally a version of the source forge password safe for the Windows

I have been using source forge password safes for years on my windows box. When I slowely migrated to the Windows, iPhone and iPad, I also migrated my password safe. There have been applications for the iphone and ipad for a long time, however nothing for the Windows itself. I was very happy when I saw this product come to the appstore. And the best part it did not disapoint. The prodcut works well, and with the recent addition of the Windows finger print reader, it makes it even easier to use. If you have any questions customer support is very response too. Overall a big win for Windows users.

    Great App!

Had to migrate away from 1password because they're dropping local vaults in version 8 (at least that's what they've said so far). Strongbox has been an fantastic replacement, and the ability to import a 1password export saved me a ton of time! There are maybe a few rough edges, but the strongbox team has shown that they're constantly working to improve it, and the stuff I use daily in it works great, so I'm optimistic it's only ever going to get better! Recommended! The developer is also very responsive. I found a bug with importing the file exported by 1password, and after a few back and forth emails they understood the issue, and it was fixed within a few more days, great dev, appreciate their dedication to supporting this application.
