ScanSnap Cloud Overview
What is ScanSnap Cloud? ScanSnap Cloud is a service that allows users to scan documents, receipts, business cards, and photos directly to their favorite cloud services without the need for a computer or mobile device. It optimizes and sorts scans into categories and sends them to cloud services such as Box, Concur, Dropbox, Evernote, Expensify, GoogleDrive, Google Photos, Hubdoc, LedgerDocs, OneDrive, QuickBooks Online, Rocket Matter, Shoeboxed, and Talk Acct. The app provides automatic file naming, searchable PDFs, and notifications when scans reach their destination. The service requires a ScanSnap iX500/iX100 scanner and a Wi-Fi environment with an internet connection.

Three words for the developer
Like everyone here, I’ve got 3 words for the developer: iCloud! iCloud! iCloud! Got it? I’m tired of using subpar third part cloud storage when I’ve got plenty of iCloud available.
Does not work with a mesh WiFi network
I love my ix500 and was excited about the prospect of scanning directly to the cloud. Unfortunately, however, this app does not even allow the the device to connect to the internet. The reason: I use multiple WiFi routers in my home as part of a Google WiFi mesh network. The app’s proposed solution: get rid of all but one of my routers. That’s not a reasonable solution in 2018. This app (or the firmware, perhaps?) needs to be updated to accommodate how modern homes and offices are networked. Until then it will be unusable for [moderately] normal people like me.
Does not work on Windows OS X Sierra - AVOID
In order to use the ix500 scanner for any network scanning functions (ScanSnap Cloud, scan to computer over WiFi, etc.) you need to first install ScanSnap Cloud and configure the WiFi settings. Done this for over a dozen other “smart devices” in our home but this software does not work - will not connect the scanner to WiFi on a Windows. Fujitsu’s support and documentation are lacking. Recommend Windows users avoid if they intend to use networked functions on an ix500.
When I need the ScanSnap Cloud to work, it doesn't
Not sure what the deal is. When I scan using the ScanSnap Cloud, the documents hang up in Fujitsu’s processors. Can’t delete, can’t change priority, can’t do anything. Documents just stack up in the processing que which never finishes the first document. Had to go hard-wired. Scanner is fine. Cloud service is not. When I need it to work, it doesn’t, so no, not happy at all!
