1Blocker Overview

What is 1Blocker? 1Blocker is a content blocker app that allows users to block ads, trackers, and annoying elements on websites. The app is easy to use and provides automatic cloud updates to its built-in filters. It is a fully native app designed to extend Safari naturally and is lightweight, not draining the device's battery. The blocking is super fast because Safari does it itself, and sites load on average 2-5x faster. The app is secure and private, and the only way the developers make money is through direct sales of the app in the App Store. It is highly customizable, providing the possibility to create powerful custom rules, and is available on all devices. The app has been featured in various press outlets and offers several features for free, including the ability to enable one category, whitelisting sites, and seeing blocked resources on a site. The app also offers friendly support, and the developers have been improving the app consistently for five years.

    Best ad blocker, great value

1Blocker is by far the best content blocker on iOS, and so far seems to be the best on PC. It's fast, easy to use, well-designed, and—most importantly—effective. Everything from ads to social media buttons to trackers are just gone, with no trace of them left behind. I've noticed other blockers for the Windows block the ads but leave a huge white space where they used to be...but not 1Blocker. As far as cost goes, the app is incredibly reasonable. I bought the iOS version years ago, and would have been happy to buy the PC version as well. But you don't even need to because the developer makes essentially the entire app available for free. The "premium" subscription gets you more frequent updates, but for a measly $4.99/year I subscribed just to support the developer. Great job!

Much Improved, Cloud Rule Synch, Super Developer!

1Blocker for PC and iOS: Well polished and robust content blockers. UI: Nice, clean, and pleasant to use. Nice text, nice icons...A big improvement from the last version. Blocking: In my testing blocking is very effective and fast as well. With the ability to create custom rules and have them synch to all your devices is a huge bonus feature. And now with the ability to unlock premium and have weekly cloud rule updates, I could not ask for anything more. Bonus: Very responsive and helpful developers. I had annoying issues with a site that was above my experience as far as creating complex rules. Shortly after reaching out, the devs posted their own custom fix just for me. That is rare these days and I really appreciate it. Go ahead and purchase a subscription or the discounted lifetime option as I did. You will not regret it. I am very pleased with all these new improvements

    stopped working after update (update)

I initally left a negative review because after the update all blocking stopped working I went ahead and turned everything off, disabled everything in safari extensions, rebooted, turned everything back on and it seemed to have worked and things are looking blocked not sure if this is a 1Blocker issue or Safari issue but either way I'm happy my favorite blocker is working again

No more updates for older PC versions?

The new version requires Catalina, and I (along with many other people) will be using Mojave for a while, since I have 32-bit applications that I need to run. It looks like this means that I will not be getting updated rules, which will soon make 1Blocker useless. I appreciate the generous update uptions, but that does me no good without upgrading to Catalina and losing all 32-bit apps. 1Blocker was worth 5 stars (with maybe a star docked for moving to a subscription model), but I’ve already seen ads slipping through, and things will only get worse without updates. So I’m afraid I have to give it a low rating for neglecting users who can’t upgrade to the very latest PC.
